Privacy Policy

Appraiser's Paradise is the name of an Internet service that is primarily intended to aid an appraiser in the creation of a narrative appraisal report. Throughout this Statement, "API" is used as an abbreviation for Appraiser's Paradise, Inc., the sole owner of the Appraiser's Paradise web site. Subscriber's of the Appraiser's Paradise web service are called "Users" or Members".

This Privacy Statement is intended to communicate our information gathering and dissemination practices. We reserve the right to change this Statement and will post the current version on the Appraiser's Paradise website.

Collected Information
API requires the Primary Contact of the company subscribing to Appraiser's Paradise to give us information that may include, but is not limited to their name, company name, address, phone number, e-mail address, billing name, billing address, and credit card number. Users of Appraiser's Paradise can opt out of providing non-essential information by not entering it when asked. Member's can update or remove their personal information by logging into Appraiser's Paradise and editing information within Home, My profile or Admin, Company Profile.

API uses the information we collect to set up services for member companies or users. We may also use the information to contact our members to discuss the services we provide or send information regarding our company, partners, promotions, and events. Email addresses, financial billing information, identifying personal data, and specific company information will not be distributed or shared with any third party.

API uses a third-party intermediary to manage credit card processing. This intermediary is solely a link in the distribution chain for credit card processing.

Users of Appraiser's Paradise will use the API web site to store property specific information ("Data"). API will not review, share, distribute, print, or reference any Data without permission of the member except as provided by this Privacy Statement, or as may be required by law. Individual records may at times be viewed or accessed only for resolving a problem, support issue, or suspected violation of the Terms of Use Agreement, or as may be required by law. Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their user name and password.

API will track, tally, and study information about usage of our web service to aid diagnosis of technical problems and improve the quality of Appraiser's Paradise. API may use and disseminate this information only in an aggregated, statistical fashion. Details about a specific subject property, particulars about a individual comparable property, or other market data gathered and tallied by our users will not be distributed or shared with any third party except as part of an aggregated statistic, or as part of a collection of information that does not identify a specific property, a specific member company, or a specific member person.

When you interact with the Appraiser's Paradise website, we strive to make that experience easy and meaningful. When you come to our web site, our web server sends a cookie to your computer. Cookies are files that web browsers place on a computer's hard drive and are used to tell us whether a visitor or member has previously visited our web site.

Standing alone, cookies do not identify you personally. They merely recognize your browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to Appraiser's Paradise either by responding to a promotional offer, subscribing to our service, you remain anonymous to API. Cookies come in two flavors: session and persistent. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you have closed your browser or turned off your computer. They include information like a unique identifier for your browser.

Appraiser's Paradise uses session cookies containing encrypted information to allow the system to uniquely identify you while you are logged in. This information allows Appraiser's Paradise to process your online requests. Session cookies help us make sure you are who you indicate you are. Appraiser's Paradise uses persistent cookies that only Appraiser's Paradise can read and use, to identify the fact that you are an Appraiser's Paradise user or prior website visitor. We are especially careful about the security and confidentiality of the information stored in persistent cookies. For example, we do not store account numbers or passwords in persistent cookies. Users who disable their web browsers' ability to accept cookies will be able to browse our website but will not be able to successfully use our service.

Third-Party Sites
Our web site contains links to other web sites. Appraiser's Paradise is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other web sites. Member's and visitors will need to check the policy statement of these others web sites to understand their policies. Members and visitors who access a linked site may be disclosing their private information. It is the responsibility of the user to keep such information private and confidential.

Appraiser's Paradise has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the Data under our control. When our Site is accessed using Netscape Navigator, or Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.5 or higher, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects information using both server authentication and data encryption to help ensure that Data is safe, secure, and available only to you. Appraiser's Paradise also implements an advanced security method based on dynamic data and encoded session identifications, and hosts the Site in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from intruders. Finally, Appraiser's Paradise requires unique user names and a password each time a member logs in.

Correcting & Updating Your Information
To update or delete user information, the user or a company administrator should log on to Appraiser's Paradise; then select Home, My Profile. To update or delete company information, a company administrator should log on to Appraiser's Paradise; then select Administration, Company Profile.

Opt-Out Policy
API offers its members a means to choose how we may use information provided. If, at any time after subscribing to our services, you change your mind about receiving information from us, send us a request specifying your new choice. Simply send your request to Info@appraisersparadise.com.
